Dodge’s Performance Features Guide for the 2022 Dodge Challenger recommends Mopar API Certified SAE 0W-40 Full Synthetic Engine Oil meeting Material Standard MS-12633; an equivalent full synthetic SAE 0W-40 oil can be used but must have the API Donut trademark for the 6.4L engine. When to Change the Oil
The Challenger has an automatic oil change indicator. When “Oil Change Required” appears, have the vehicle serviced within the next 500 miles (805 km). The guide also sets a hard limit: oil change intervals should never exceed 6,000 miles (10,000 km) or six months, whichever comes first. Change the oil at six months even if the message hasn’t come on, and more often with extended off-road or track use.
