Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OilFinderPro: Auto Oil Change (the "App"), developed and operated by Dzianis Kuziomkin ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App and related services.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

You can use the App without creating an account. If you choose to register, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

When you look up a vehicle, we process:

  • The VIN you enter, or the make, model, year and engine you select
  • The vehicle details decoded from the VIN and the oil specifications returned for it

Lookups are saved together with a random device identifier and, if you are signed in, your account ID and email address. We use them to show your lookup history and to apply the lookup limits of your plan.

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message and use them only to respond to you.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Identifiers: a random installation identifier created by the App, the ID of your anonymous or registered account, the Firebase app instance ID and, only if you allow tracking on iOS, your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • Usage data: screens and features used, lookups started and completed, paywall views, purchase outcomes, and taps on product links and notifications
  • Device and app information: device model, operating system, language, time zone and app version
  • IP address: received by our servers and service providers with every network request

1.3 Information Kept on Your Device

Favorite oil products, oil-change reminders and your language, notification and analytics choices are stored on your device. They are not sent to us, except for the notification details described in Section 3.

2. Analytics, Advertising Measurement and Tracking

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used, to fix problems and to measure how well our own advertising brings new users.

  • Your consent. If your device region is in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics stays off until you agree. Elsewhere it is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in Profile → Share usage analytics.
  • Tracking on iOS. The App asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow it, your advertising identifier and App events, including purchase events, may be shared with Google to attribute installs and purchases to our ad campaigns and to measure their performance. Apple calls this “tracking”. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not accessed and analytics data is not used for advertising. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android. When analytics is on, Google may use your device’s advertising ID for the same ad measurement. You can reset or delete it in your device settings.
  • Apple Search Ads. On iOS, when analytics is on, the App collects Apple’s AdServices attribution token so we can see which Apple Search Ads campaign led to an install. This does not use the advertising identifier.
  • Your VIN is never sent to analytics or shared for advertising. When you look up a vehicle, its make, model and year may be recorded as part of usage events; we use them to understand which vehicles are searched, not to target ads.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Our website, oilfinderpro.com, uses PostHog and Ahrefs Web Analytics to measure visits and page usage.

3. Notifications

  • Oil-change reminders are scheduled on your device. Setting a reminder does not send any data to us.
  • Product announcements are optional and off by default. They include OilFinderPro updates and occasional news about our other car apps, such as CarInterval. If you turn them on, we store a push notification token, a random installation identifier, your account ID, language, platform, app version, the time you gave consent and whether you have interacted with an in-app promotion for our other apps.
  • Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and the Apple Push Notification service.
  • You can turn announcements off at any time in Profile → Notifications & reminders or in your device settings. Your registration is then deactivated.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card details.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and lifetime purchases. RevenueCat receives a random app user identifier, your purchase history (product, price, currency, dates and renewal status) and basic device information. When analytics is on, RevenueCat also sends purchase events, including revenue, to Firebase. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

5. Product Links and Affiliate Disclosure

Product links may open Amazon or other retailers. Some are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When you open a link, the retailer handles your visit and any purchase under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your order or payment details.

6. How We Use Information

  • Provide oil specification lookups, lookup history and plan limits
  • Manage accounts, subscriptions and purchases
  • Send reminders and, if you opted in, product announcements
  • Understand how the App is used and improve it
  • Measure our advertising, as described in Section 2
  • Respond to support requests and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal information.

7. Service Providers and Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the App, and only for the purposes in this policy:

  • Supabase: database, accounts and server functions (accounts, lookups and notification registrations)
  • Fly.io: hosting of our vehicle lookup servers
  • Google Firebase: analytics, advertising measurement and push notifications
  • RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management
  • Apple and Google: app distribution, payments and notification delivery

We may also disclose information when required by law, to comply with legal processes, or to protect our rights or the safety of users.

8. Data Retention

  • Account data is kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete it.
  • Lookups are kept to provide your history and plan limits, and are deleted with your account or on request.
  • Notification registrations are deactivated when you turn announcements off and deleted when you delete your account.
  • Analytics data is kept for the limited period set in our Google Analytics settings.
  • Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Where analytics relies on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

You can also control your data in the App and on your device:

  • Analytics: Profile → Share usage analytics
  • Tracking: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
  • Notifications: Profile → Notifications & reminders, or your device settings
  • Account: delete it in the App, as described in Section 12

To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below.

12. Account Deletion

You can delete your account in the App under Profile → Delete account. This deletes your account, the lookup history linked to it and your notification registrations.

You can also request deletion by emailing support@oilfinderpro.com from the email address linked to your account. We complete requests within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or billing purposes. Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are governed by their own policies.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
