Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 is the 0W-30 grade of Mobil’s emission-system-protection range. In Mobil’s approvals table on its product page, the ESP 0W-30 column is marked for MB-Approval 229.31, 229.51 and 229.52, Porsche C30, and VW 504 00 and 507 00. ExxonMobil recommends it for applications requiring ACEA C2, and lists ACEA C3 and API SL among the requirements it meets or exceeds.
Volkswagen’s own approved-oil list includes Mobil 1 ESP SAE 0W-30 under VW 504 00/507 00 (Volkswagen technical bulletin 2012855/81, “Volkswagen Engine Oil Quality Standards”, June 4, 2026).
The same Mobil page also shows ESP X2 0W-20, ESP X4 0W-40 and ESP 5W-30; their approvals differ, so only the 0W-30 column is used here.
Is this oil compatible with your car?
Viscosity alone does not determine whether an oil is right for your engine. Compatibility depends on the
exact OEM approval your manufacturer requires, your engine's build, the model year, and the market the
car was sold in — the same nominal viscosity can carry different approvals in different regions. Check
your owner's manual or use OilFinderPro below to confirm the requirement for your specific vehicle before
buying.
Disclaimer: Specifications on this page are drawn from the manufacturer's own published
product documentation as of the access date above and may change. Always confirm the current
approval and viscosity requirement for your exact vehicle in its owner's manual before buying oil.
