Ford’s owner’s manual for the 2022 F-350 with the 7.3L engine recommends Motorcraft SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C961-A1. If Motorcraft oil isn’t available, use an SAE 5W-30 oil that shows the API Certification Mark for gasoline engines. Engine oil capacity is 8.0 qt (7.57 L) including the oil filter.

Extreme Cold
Where ambient temperatures reach -22°F (-30°C) or below, Ford recommends Engine Oil - SAE 0W-30 - Synthetic Blend (WSS-M2C963-A1) for better cold starting.
When to Change the Oil
The Super Duty’s Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor shows a message in the information display at the proper oil change interval. The manual says this interval may be up to one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km) and to change the oil within two weeks or 500 mi (800 km) of the message appearing. For gasoline engines its guideline examples are 7,500-10,000 mi (12,000-16,000 km) for normal use, 5,000-7,500 mi (8,000-12,000 km) for severe use and 2,500-5,000 mi (4,000-8,000 km) for extreme use, and its gasoline Normal Maintenance Intervals table lists changing the engine oil and filter at 10,000 mi (16,000 km), 450 engine hours or 12 months, whichever comes first.
