Complete Oil Specifications
INFINITI’s owner’s manual for the 2023 QX50 (KR20DDET engine) recommends Genuine NISSAN Motor Oil 0W-20 SP or an equivalent. If it isn’t available, a synthetic SAE 0W-20 GF-6 SP oil may be used. Engine oil drain-and-refill capacity is about 5 US qt (4.7 L) with an oil filter change, or 4-7/8 US qt (4.6 L) without.
When to Change the Oil
| Schedule | Replace engine oil & filter |
|---|---|
| Essentials | Every 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or 12 months |
The oil control system can call for a change sooner. If the oil replacement indicator comes on, change the oil within two weeks or before you drive 500 miles (800 km). If the indicator resets early or stops working, change the oil within six months or 3,750 miles (6,000 km) of the last change.
Warranty Note
The manual says damage caused by motor oil other than the recommended oil isn’t covered under INFINITI’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
