Lexus’s owner’s manual for the 2024 UX 250h (M20A-FXS) calls for Toyota Genuine Motor Oil or an equivalent ILSAC GF-6B multigrade engine oil, with a recommended viscosity of SAE 0W-16. Oil capacity is 4.5 qt (4.3 L) with the filter and 4.1 qt (3.9 L) without.
Can I Use 0W-20?
Only as a stopgap. Lexus calls SAE 0W-16 the best choice for fuel economy and cold starting. If it isn’t available, SAE 0W-20 may be used, but it must be replaced with 0W-16 at the next oil change.
Checking the Level After a Change
The capacity is a reference quantity for a drain and refill. When adding oil, keep the level between the low level mark and the refill upper limit mark: warm up the engine, turn off the hybrid system, wait about 5 minutes, then check the dipstick.
