Complete Oil Specifications
Mazda’s owner’s manual for the 2021 Mazda6 with the SKYACTIV-G 2.5 says to use SAE 0W-20 engine oil. Only use 0W-20 oil that’s “Certified For Gasoline Engines” by the American Petroleum Institute (API), which is the trademark that shows it meets the ILSAC standard. Mazda says Mazda Genuine 0W-20 Oil is required to achieve optimum fuel economy, and recommends Mazda Genuine Parts and Oil for maintenance.
Engine oil capacity is approximately 4.5 L (4.8 US qt) with oil filter replacement, or 4.3 L (4.5 US qt) without.
