The owner’s manual for the 2024 RAM 1500 recommends Mopar SAE 0W-20 full synthetic engine oil meeting FCA Material Standard MS-6395; an equivalent full synthetic SAE 0W-20 oil can be used but must carry the API Starburst trademark for the 3.6L engine. When to Change the Oil
The 1500 has an automatic oil change indicator. When “Oil Change Required” appears, have the vehicle serviced within the next 500 miles (805 km). The manual also sets a hard limit: oil change intervals should never exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km), 12 months or 350 hours of engine run time, whichever comes first.
