Complete Oil Specifications
Toyota’s owner’s manual for the 2023 Venza (A25A-FXS) calls for Toyota Genuine Motor Oil or an equivalent ILSAC GF-6B multigrade engine oil, with a recommended viscosity of SAE 0W-16. Oil capacity is 4.8 qt (4.5 L) with the filter and 4.4 qt (4.2 L) without.
Can I Use 0W-20?
Only as a stopgap. Toyota calls SAE 0W-16 the best choice for fuel economy and cold starting. If it isn’t available, SAE 0W-20 may be used, but it must be replaced with 0W-16 at the next oil change.
Checking the Level After a Change
Toyota’s capacity figures are a reference for a drain and refill. After refilling, warm up the engine, turn off the hybrid system, wait more than 5 minutes, then check the level on the dipstick.
