Ford’s owner’s manual for the 2024 Maverick with the 2.5L Hybrid engine recommends Motorcraft SAE 0W-20 Motor Oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C962-A1. When to Change the Oil
The Maverick’s Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor shows a message in the instrument cluster display at the proper oil change interval. The manual says this interval may be up to one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km) and that hybrid vehicles could exceed 10,000 mi (16,000 km). Change the oil within two weeks or 500 mi (800 km) of the message appearing. If the display resets prematurely or becomes inoperative, the manual says to change the oil at six months or 5,000 mi (8,000 km) from the last oil change and never to exceed one year or 10,000 mi (16,000 km) between oil changes.
