Complete Oil Specifications
Volvo’s US owner’s manual for the 2024 XC60 says fully synthetic engine oil, at least 0W-20 C6 (API SP), must be used; Volvo recommends VCC C6SP SAE 0W-20 and Castrol Edge Professional engine oil. Lower oil grades don’t offer the same fuel economy, engine performance and engine protection. Engine oil volume is about 6.1 L (6.45 US qt) including the oil filter. The vehicle leaves the factory with synthetic oil.
Other Notes From the Manual
- Don’t use oil additives.
- Volvo publishes oil change intervals in the separate Service and warranty booklet.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
- Exact engine variant. The manual page gives one oil figure without splitting it by engine, so this page doesn’t claim a specific engine code, output or induction type.
- Oil change interval. It’s in the Service and warranty booklet, not the owner’s manual page used here.
- OEM oil filter part number and drain plug torque. Neither appears on the owner’s manual page used here.
